About Dr. Uttam Kumar (Founder)
Dr. Kumar graduated from CCSU Meerut and obtained doctorate degree from BHU, Varanasi in 2006. He spend a year at ICAR-IIVR Varanasi before joining Leibniz-Institut für Pflanzengenetik und Kulturpflanzenforschung (IPK), Germany. Served TERI, New Delhi for 3 years and established a wheat research group through international collaborative projects such as BMBF Germany and RFBR Russia. Dr. Uttam joined CIMMYT Mexico in January 2013 as wheat breeder. Later moved to BISA, India and worked on genomic selection and precision phenotyping to develop high yielding climate resilient wheat varieties for South Asia. Currently, the most common wheat varieties in India and South Asia have an active and major contribution of Dr. Uttam Kumar.
